One of the top small business ideas for 2010 is to offer services that can leverage technology to help other small businesses be more productive and save money. For example, because technology allows you to work virtually anywhere in the world you can offers services as a virtual assistant or virtual worker and answer phone calls for small companies from your own home office. This type of service is easily created leveraging virtual phone systems, an Internet connection, a computer, and your own home phone. This can be done very inexpensively, and virtual workers are in big demand now.

Another great small business idea is to offer project management services for practically any type of business, including small all away through large corporations. Project management is one of those services that will never go away and simply requires the ability to manage details, move things along and provide good reports back to the client. There are many project management tools on the Internet that are free of charge and give you the ability to collaborate with a client again virtually anywhere in the world.

Are you a good writer? Content and especially great editorial content is in huge demand today. The type of content that is requested by clients is all over the map. You can literally write about anything from dog grooming to pool repair to oil spill cleanup.
